Among the things we have to be thankful for is our community of colleagues and industry friends that allows us to share our insights and knowledge with one another. The January RHMPs event will give us a platform to discuss what changes we are seeing in hotel contracts, how you negotiate and what you negotiate. Contracts are all about the “what ifs”, about trying to anticipate what may go wrong, what changes the future will bring, and protect us from as many situations as possible. Share your experiences with other planners and hear feedback from our supplier partners.
The discussion will be led by Brigid Corrigan. Her company, Corrigan Associates, LLC assists clients to find the right hotel for each program, negotiates concessions and terms, and reviews hotel contracts. She finds that the more contracts you review, the more trends and patterns become visible. In addition to a BA degree, Brigid later went back to school for a business degree with an emphasis on business law, has worked as a sales manager in hotels, as a regional sales manager, and as VP of Sales for a large national hotel sales firm. For quite a few years she traveled constantly doing sites of the hotels she represented and the properties they competed with. She started Corrigan Associates in 1999 to help her clients not only find the right hotels, but to also help them put contracts in place that address as many “what ifs” as possible.
